Aneesa Basha currently holds the position of Acting Chief Director for Strategic ICT services in the Department of the Premier, Centre for e-Innovation in Western Cape Provincial Government.

She is a self-professed lifelong learner and has a Masters and Honours in Commerce (Information Systems) as well as a Bachelors in Education from the University of Cape Town.

Since 2019, she has been the lead for the Digital Transformation Implementation initiative for the 13 provincial departments in the Western Cape. In the role of CD, she is responsible to render strategic ICT services to the WCG, focusing on IT planning and development, the coordination of the Corporate Governance of ICTs as well as the Digital Government agenda which includes enhancing the citizen’s experience platforms.

Previously, she was responsible for IT support for the Department of Education and Culture Affairs and Sport, managing IT infrastructure across 1500 schools and corporate sites. She is passionate about improving service delivery through digital to change the lived reality of the citizens of South Africa.
