Inkosi Mzamo Buthelezi was appointed as Minister for the Public Service and Administration from 3 July 2024 in the 7^th Administration of the Republic of South Africa.

He serves as the Deputy President of the Inkatha Freedom Party and holds the esteemed position of Inkosi (Chief) of the Buthelezi Clan at Embongongweni. He is also a Prince, as he is a direct descendant of King Mpande.

Inkosi Buthelezi has served as the Mayor of the Zululand District Municipality and as a member of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature, where he served on the Economic Development and Finance committees. Since 2012, he has been elected to serve in Parliament as a Member of the National Assembly.

Inkosi Buthelezi is passionate about conservation and people development hence previously serving  as Board Chairperson of the Ithala Game Reserve and currently serving as the Chairperson of the Co-Management Committee.
