Jonas CL Valente is a postdoctoral researcher at Oxford Internet Institute, responsible for leading the Cloudwork Project, inside the Fairwork Project. The project assesses labour conditions on web-based digital labour platforms. He is the author of books and articles on digital labour, digital platforms, platform work, digital policy and Information and Communication Technologies. He is the sole author of the book “From Online Platforms to Digital Monopolies: technology, information and power” (Brill, 2021). He holds a PhD in sociology of technology (University of Brasilia, Brazil) and has been involved with research projects about platform work, Artificial Intelligence and work, digitally-mediated work regulation with institutions from multiple countries. He works as assistant editor on the Revista Internacional de Economia Política da Informação, Comunicação e Cultura journal (Eptic-Online). He has taken part in international public hearings, speeches and policy debates.
