Pria Chetty

Pria Chetty heads up the digital policy and regulation practice area at Genesis Analytics. She advises clients across sectors and geographies on issues of data protection and privacy, digital economy and trade regulation, digital skills and inclusion policy, open data policies, AI regulation, cybersecurity, and data governance.

Her prior roles include heading up the Southern Africa technology law practice area for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Regional Data Protection Adviser to the International Telecoms Union, and Data Protection Adviser to the African Union, where she led initiatives to develop model frameworks and national policies and laws for African countries.

She has also worked with the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office where she headed up Policy and Programmes in the education, skills and digital areas.

As a thought leader, Pria has presented at local and international conferences, and published widely on technology law and policy with a particular emphasis on recommendations for developing countries. Pria has served as a member of regional and international expert groups and advisory boards.

She is completing her Doctoral degree in legal reforms to enable open government data initiatives.
