This roundtable aims to address pressing challenges and opportunities in the realm of digital governance within the African context, focusing on "Building Digital Trust in Africa: Strategies for Enhancing Data Privacy and Security". Recognizing the critical role of trust and ethics in shaping the trajectory of digital transformation, the roundtable will bring together multi-stakeholder participants from diverse backgrounds. It aims to foster discussions on practical strategies and best practices for building trust in digital governance systems while upholding ethical principles and ensuring inclusivity. Through collaborative efforts and knowledge sharing, the roundtable seeks to contribute to the advancement of responsible and transparent digital governance frameworks in Africa, ultimately facilitating the continent sustainable development and the realization of a world where digital technologies serve the common good.


Objectives for the participants

  • Identify challenges and opportunities in building trust within African digital context (country to country, citizen to government, private sector to government, etc.).
  • Propose strategies to enhance data privacy, ethic, human rights, and security measures
  • Clear establishment of roles and responsibilities for the following stakeholders: governments, industry, civil society to foster trust in the digital ecosystem (ethic, human rights, cross-border flows)
